My entire adult life has been an attempt to liberate myself from my father’s judgment, a rejection of the life pre-planned for me. It is hard for some to accept the concept of equality and the free will that is alive in all of humankind. If I choose to exhibit my beauty in a way that challenges another person’s comfort levels or beliefs, it must be accepted as the equal free will I possess as a human being, not as a woman. That is equality. Instead of defining what feminism is or what form of expression or action constitutes oppression versus liberation as a matter of personal opinion, which is all that it could ever be, liberation from judgment dictates the acceptance of free will as its foundation. We as women are free to make our own decisions as we see fit, and if those choices are difficult for you to accept, that’s ok because you don’t have to accept them, but your participation must end there. Beauty, if only for a moment, shields us from the world’s incessant demands. And surely, this is the most important characteristic of our post-modern culture; it is a loveless culture which is afraid of beauty because it is disturbed by love. As it has been said, in an age of ugliness, an act of beauty is an act of defiance.

David immortalizes us, he opens our eyes to the joys of unpretentious natural beauty. That, to me, is Magnifik.
